About Me
For many years I have dreamt of being my own boss and to be able to work with dogs, who have been a life long source of happiness, fun and companionship. So, when redundancy from an IT role with an Aberdeen Oil Service Company came knocking last summer, it appeared to be the time for me to look at the possibiity of changing my path to one which would allow me to realise my dreams as well as lead a less sedentary lifestyle and earn a living doing something I'm passionate about. Finally I could live to work, not just work to live.

Many months of research, training and determination have now culminated in Brackens Groom Room, a dog grooming service in North Aberdeenshire. Together with making the above changes, Brackens Groom Room will allow me to build a business in my local community, enjoy the peace and tranquility of working in the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside every day and meet some fellow dog lovers and their much loved dogs.
ABOUT THE
​GROOM VROOM
One other inspiration for Brackens Groom Room is the handsome chap in this photo - Bracken himself. Sadly passed but never forgotten, Bracken was a fantastic dog but, as you can see, a very furry one and needed constant grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best. With little time to schedule a trip to a grooming salon, I managed to groom him myself but always felt I wished I had more knowledge to do a better job.
The grooming room is currently the trailer I used when I was mobile and comes fully fitted with all the equipment you would find in a Salon so I can offer the full bespoke grooming service you would expect. I say bespoke as every dog is unique in their own special way and with the many different breeds and factors that need to be considered for a groom, this alone will ensure each day for me grooming within Brackens Groom Room will be as varied as the delightful doggies I get to meet along the way.
